We are a work in progress, not perfection

My family is a work in progress.
We are not perfectly dressed, perfectly mannered nor perfectly obedient.
My house is a work in progress.
It is not perfectly decorated, perfectly clean, nor perfectly organized.
My home is a work in progress.
My garden is not perfectly weed free, it is not perfectly landscaped, nor perfectly remodeled.
My homeschool is a work in progress.
We are not perfectly on schedule, perfectly planned nor perfectly learned.  (pronounced "learn-ed")

When we are not perfect we are subject to others judgement.

And? so what.

It is the Lord we are to please, not man (except of course your husband).  If your husband is happy with the way your family is, the way your house runs, the way you homeschool your children, the way your home is decorated, then why fret?

You represent your husband in all things (and of course the Lord).  As his ambassador of hospitality, what is keeping you from opening up your home?

I am constantly reminded that I don't have dirt floors to welcome my guests to.  I have an inside toilet (that is not perfectly clean).

What will you do with what you have been given?

Hospitality and home-y-ness are not a product of perfection, but an attitude of the heart.
